Great apartments

I have lived here for two years going on three and always get amazing service when it comes to issues within the home. Your website to pay rent is easy and fast. Everyone here respects your space and as well does not bother you which is nice. The parking can get out of hand sometimes and hard to get a spot close to home for those of us who work late.

Nice place to live

We have lived at the retreat at Austin bluffs For 4 and a 1/2 years We feel safe living here and the property is always cleaned up every Morning. The only negative comment on the apartment is kitchen is out dated. The staff at the office are very professional. The rent increases at every new lease but that is understandable due to to the City growth.

Not the greatest. They are quick to collect money for little things but the apartment itself is hardly worth 1000 per month. Very quick to leave notes on your door. Can't wait to have a house

What happened

Air conditioning and thermostat not running efficiently. Grounds around our building are in very poor condition compared to other builings closer to clubhouse. Illegal immigrants in one of the top floor apartments. 6-8 different people in that unit. All in all the place has gone way downhill in just one over one year. Neighbors directly above our place smoke heavily indoors which seeps into our apartment causing it to smell like a filthy motel room.

not worth the price, but everything else is great

I would tell them that the apartment is large but put together cheaply, the paint falls off , laundry room door doesn't open like it should and master bedroom door wasn't put in right. the toilet has had lousy pressure in flushing since we moved in, and now its to the point of not being able to use the master br at all but to shower. The other bathroom is starting to develop the same problem and I am not a plumber. I cant live in a place that has no working toilet. There is plenty of lighting and the staff is always there to help. I just hope they get the plumbers over here since I am paying rent on this apartment and both the toilets have major problems and it is driving me nuts. The walls are also very thin. I can hear my neighbors farting and having sex. I do love the landscape and the times they come aren't at the crack of dawn. The staff is really friendly considering the amount of work they have to get done.

Staff is great and helpful. Issues with neighbors and c

My main issue is the amount of cigarette smoke that comes into my apartment daily and this occurs for hours at a time. For someone who does not smoke, this is so frustrating and does make me want to move. The neighbors above me are also pretty loud and have had a few issues with them during the work week. It mainly depends on your neighbors on whether or not you will enjoy living here. The staff in the leasing office are great and I have had a great experience with the maintenance department as well.

I feel that the Retreat tries very hard to keep the apa

The rent is high, the grounds contain a lot of animal feces makes it hard to walk a dog without getting soiled shoes . I obey the dog rules,and have been falsely called out for an unleashed dog and for not picking up my dog's droppings never happened . I live on the 3rd floor, so by default I can see people out with their dogs, and see MANY infractions. I really like Leonard the head maintenance lead, as he always does an outstanding job and trains his crew to do the same. Leonard is a kind and helpful individual who really cares about correcting problems.I find the administrative crew to be very helpful and caring. This is extremely important to running a happy multi-residential facility.

My family really loves it here.

It's a nice apartment. Not the newest but very comfortable. Has plenty of stuff for us to do in the apartment community. Love the pools indoor is the best as well as the play area for the kids and that the schools are close by and have a bus stop at the apartments. Has central air really enjoy that, many other places do not offer that and I like the staff in the office. They are always willing to help fix your problems with the apartments no matter how mad you are. I always get my mail and packages no problem. Overall we enjoy it here and just keep to ourselves.

Could be better.. Could be worse

The apartments are pretty nice for what they are. The maintenance people do a very good job making repairs in a timely manner and upkeep the grounds as best as possible. Once your building is full you will have a hard time finding a place to park. The office staff is horrible I have lived here for a year and had 3 different managers. They don't care how you feel about anything just as long as you pay your rent on time.

It's okay

The pool and hot tub are nice, but there are bugs in my apartment. Parking is awful because management doesn't keep track of who actually lives here. Anyone could park here at any time. If you want to get your mail while the mailman is here, it takes at least an hour for him to finish and you're not allowed to go in the mail room while he is there. No one cleans up after their pets. There's always construction going on and the workers are careless. They leave their tools and things laying around everywhere which could be dangerous for children.

Average at best.

"With the most recent price increase I'd say that it is much tougher to recommend the Retreat to others. If the price increase was also coupled with appliance cabinet counter top upgrades to the kitchen bathroom then it would be justified. The walls are fairly thin and poorly insulated which is pretty common in the Springs but one can hear their neighbors when they play the TV or Music loudly. It is rare to hear them talking which is better than some apartments. Maintenance has been very prompt and I have no issues with them and the grounds are kept up. The price for the quality of the apartment is absurd. I'm not paying the increased price but would absolutely not live here if it was the only option. Again if the appliances kitchen etc... were new then it would be justified."

Rent to high for older apartment complex

For a person on fixed income, yearly rent increases are hard to budget for. keeping rates standard for senior residence will help folks like me staying at The Retreat longer.

Nice location for everything, not enough parking

It's a great complex, everyone is really nice. The management is great and extremely responsive to the needs of the residents. Everything is maintained really well and the maintenance people are super friendly and take the time to understand the problem and make sure they fix it. The only complaint I have is that people from other buildings park in front of ours and then there is no spots for the residents of that building. I think assigned parking wouldn't be a terrible thing to consider.

A family friendly comunity

I work 16 hours a day and enjoy keeping to my self. Most of my neighbors are quiet besides for a dog barking here and there. But they quite them down right away. There is one neighbor on the side of my bedroom that enjoys to throw parties. Other than that most everyone keeps to them selves as well. A very nice property with an indoor outdoor pool and spa, which is extremely nice after a long work day. The staff is very respectful and accommodates to my needs. Which I appreciate. On day of move in Alex had already walked through my house noting all the previous damage and prior stains, which was extremely helpful.

Overall

Extremely outdated. Windows are old. You can hear everything above you. The back gate is never closed. It stays open 24 7. Pool is dirty and the hot tub isn't hot. For as much money as you pay, I would expect more. I wish I could cancel my lease but the fee is absolutely ridiculous. This has been a complete waste of my money.

To much money

Good property, and the floor plan is nice. It is older but it is in good condition. However they ran AC lines through my closet, and has exposed Freon lines in my closet. One bedrooms have one washer and dryer for every 8 units or so. I am having a hard time justifying the 950 price tag on my unit.

The property is horrible, Shun is worse.

" The apartments are bigger than many other complexes but that's about where the positives stop. The security gates haven't worked consistently in our recent 3.5 years here or the 4 years we lived here in the early 2000s. I'm betting they haven't worked while we didn't live there as well. What a perk of living there In the summer after you pay to fill the pools, you'll get an invigorating experience of swimming in ice water. My advice is to use it while the water is blue, before it turns green. We were fortunate enough to never had our vehicles broken into and our building was in a rare area where 95 of the time we had good parking so I won't complain about those things. Other reviews have stated, and I completely agree, the maintenance is ridiculous. I'd call it patching rather than repairing. We had a yearly fix the ceiling above the shower and tub in both bathrooms where the drywall would start to fall and they would come in, patch it up, and leave a mess for us. There is no security as far as cameras around the huge complex which I've always been perplexed by. I believe it's so that they can reduce their responsibility, can't think of any other reason not to protect your tenants. The moving out process was as big of a scam as many others have written about. There is a legal definition, I'm sure, of wear and tear . These guys Shun have never heard of it. Everything that happens that they have to fix is damage. He informed me that they don't paint after every move out, only if they think they need to. I think that's either 1. a lie or 2. a horrible way to welcome a new resident. Anyway, there were parts of the wall that were dirty and he decided that it was damage. There were parts of the carpet that definitely needed to be replaced - he didn't and wouldn't look up the age of the carpet, he just decided that we should pay 40 of the price to re-carpet the whole apartment. There were other charges that we are totally fine with "

Just moved back here. Great apartments.

I lived here years ago and now I have moved back. These are really very nice apartments with more amenities than most in town. My only complaint would be that the windows need to be replaced. They let in way too much noise and cold. But that certainly would not stop me from moving in again. The staff is amazing and they host fun events at the office each month. The maintenance people are quick and professional. It is just a fun place to live

I like the accommodations, staff, and location.

I have enjoyed my time here. The accommodations are good. I like the layout of my unit, and I have enjoyed the people that I have interacted with. If you are looking for a safe and affordable spot to make your move to Colorado, or to transition from another apartment or home, then give the Retreat a call.

Very disappointed. Windows doors leak dogs noisy

I would not recommend it at all. My two windows leak so badly I have to put towels down to catch the water and then wring them out to catch more water. You can see outside light coming through the front door - the cold air comes in as if it were open. The noise is horrible. I sleep in the dining room because the bedroom shakes when upstairs people have sex and the dog is either howling or crying when they are not there or running around in an excited state when they are. I tried sleeping in the living room but they are extremely loud in the living room so I hear everything as well. I do not use my dishwasher nor do I do laundry here yet I get charged a high rate for water. Meanwhile, other people around me have visitors who I assume are using these facilities. I also had a problem with a water leak and the office tried to blame the carpet cleaners for not coming. The office made an actual appointment for me - a day and time - and then when the cleaners did not show the office said they had no control over them - they just showed up when they showed up. If this was the truth, why did the office bother making an appointment for me. It would have been more customer service friendly if they had told me that upfront. Even better, make arrangements for a four hour window or eight hour window when the cleaners could come.

Average at best.

I am very, very disappointed. The apartments are dark cave-like , floors are uneven, there was very poor care when repainting. The woodwork slopped with paint. Floor running boards are warped and falling off, the rings on the burners for the stove are ridiculously cheap, we had no toilet paper holders, no sink strainer, and the bathtub is in very poor condition, dented refrigerator.......now also when I searched to rent this place it was advertised that you had a volleyball court far from a functional volleyball court , the pool has been locked twice in the last two weeks during operating hours.

Good enough for a single person.

That overall it is a nice place. I feel fairly safe and that I do not have to worry too much when walking from my car at night or that someone will break in. The price is one of the best in town without living in one of the bad neighborhoods . It is a cute place. Pretty dated in terms of the units, but you can personalize them and make them cuter.

Unsafe place to live

I have been here over 2 years. The first year was great. I couldn't believe how lucky we were. The last year has been the worst. The security gates do not work. Security is a joke. There are always strange people wandering in and out of the complex at night. We have had stuff stolen off our jeep not once, not twice but five times. Management is not really concerned this is happening. Each time I have been down there, it's been a joke. How many police reports can I fill out at the same place Extremely frustrated Nd severely disappointed. Can not wait for my lease to be up. Can not cone soon enough.

Pet friendly, quiet, safe neighborhood.

Any time I have needed maintenance, staff has been prompt and courteous. The online portal is well maintained, the grounds are wonderful. Only negative I have is that rent doesn't post until the due date I prefer to pay in advance.

Nice Place. Perfect No.

"I actually have zero complaints about the staff or the quality. I am however a little miffed that 3 days after I forgot my rent payment after my first month that I received a phone call and upon returning home a 50 late fee and a letter from an attorney beginning eviction proceedings. I understand theirs is a tough business but it's my first offense and I'm only three days late The payment processing system doesn't even remind you to pay it until the day it's due. Whether it is or not, it felt like a way to get another 50 bucks out of me and I don't like business done that way. Honestly. It's a nice place to live and the design is excellent for an apartment. Could have more parking but you know what you're signing up for renting an apartment so it's not really their fault. I'd rather have the trees than a few extra parking places. So yeah, other than what feels like a predatory collections practice it's excellent. The whole collections thing sort of negates the point of having community events at the clubhouse . Stop buying me pizza and slow down on your charges if you have to. Seriously. I'll accept a delay for fixing a livability issue if it arises because of life happening I expect the same respect. The rent isn't exactly low and the buildings aren't exactly new. To the staff sorry I didn't get to email you this more privately. When I logged on to correct this issue you called me about today, the system asked for a review and I gave an honest one. It's not as though I'm dissatisfied with the practice. It's good business. However, it will be a HUGE deciding factor on extending my lease. I'm not a big fan of living in a place so eager to re-rent that they begin proceedings like this and call for a reminder to pay the day they place the notice. Like I said business is business and this is sound practice. Maybe you should be selling shoes though. It's not the sort of practi"

A place to live

Nothing really stands out about these apartments, my downstairs neighbors try to kill each other on the regular and have since I moved in. They are older units so they aren't quiet or modern, but the location is convenient.

The management employees are very courteous and friendl

Daniel Clarke told me he started working here in March of this year We had a problem with our front door keys getting stuck so we had to jiggle the key to get it out. Daniel came over today and was such a very friendly and respectful young man. Daniel took care of our door issue but also took his time to adjust our door after the weather stripping made it hard to close our door. Thank you Daniel...you're a good young man.

Property is clean

"i enjoy living here bc of the lower rent than most places, maintenance is quick to fix problems the office is always nice. Rooms are good sized, I love the walk in closet. Love the private storage area and screened in patio The only downsides are no laundry in units, but its manageable. Parking would be a lot easier if assigned. If you go out past 9 30, don't expect a parking spot near your building when you return, but also manageable. "

Very dog friendly, no breed restrictions.

Older Property, for the price it needs updated and clea

I have not lived here long enough to give a quality review. I did not see my apt before i moved in and was very disappointed with the cleaning. I'm still scrubbing the grout from shower wall and grim from cabinet door, window tracks, and bathroom fixtures. Otherwise the new carpet is nice.

Not good

This place is no good. Its very hard to find parking when you get off work at night, they have raised my rent by 200 in 2 years that ive lived here, your not aloud to use money orders so now it cost anywhere from 3.99 to 30.00 to pay your rent pending on which transaction you use, they refuse to fix my refrigerator it makes this god awlful squealing noise every night ive even recorded they still refuse, it cost too much to wash clothes here and the laundry rooms are gross. Just plain bad. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place let alone the weidner company.

Could be better for the price

My cabinets are all scuffed up, there is no grace perilous on rent. Price is way too high for what you get, it is very loud, walls are made very thin, grounds are really bad. Very old appliances. Will be out of this place as soon as my lease is up.

Not safe...

I believe it's pretty good expect for irresponsible pet

Management has taken much to long to address noise issues coming from tenant below as well as him repeatedly parking in the handicap parking. Just recently the issue of him parking in the handicap space has been addressed resulting in him having his car towed. Since we have been here I have addressed concerns such as tenant from apt 140 spitting on my car, consistent smell of marijuana into our bathroom, I don't exactly know where it's coming from but smoke does rise. also constant high base coming from apt below, and just recently constant dogs barking from his balcony area. He lets his dog urinate and defecate right in the front of the complex because he is to lazy to take his dog back into the area for dogs to relieve themselves. I do have to mention that there are other irresponsible dog owners that don't pick up after their pets as well. Security drags there behind on any calls that I have made that it's useless to contact them. I did not choose this apt complex with the idea of having to become the apt complex police man. Upon moving into apt 141 the bathroom tile appears to have black pits embedded kitchen linoleum worn and ripped below the frig. As well as the carpet being old and worn out. I want to mention that management like Cheryl and the ground keepers try their best. Some of the maintenance personnel do their best under their limited circumstances.

Insufficient for the amount of money being paid.

There were burn marks on the carpet, in the bathroom, etc. The appliances were and still are outdated. The apartment itself is outdated in a lot of places as well sinks, shower-head pipe rusted, light fixtures . Paint in the sink. Multiple issues that we had to address upon moving in. Still ongoing issues which will be reported shortly. When the issues were addressed upon moving in, the manager offered us 50 in gift cards, a carpet refresh doesn't help with the burns . and laminate to tile if I stay again after my lease is up, which I probably won't. I thought this apartment would be acceptable with all the amenities and hopefully updated beyond the 90's. I seriously don't see why I need to pay upwards of 1,200 a month for this at all.

I think it's borderline ghetto, run by a greedy company

I would tell them not to expect the least compassion. They should be sure to lock their doors at all times and look over their shoulders for riff-raff. Expect to be charged every possible penny allowable by law, regardless of the circumstances. This is the worst place I've ever lived, and I would never recommend it. Go with a locally-owned place that still possesses its soul.

Not energy efficient

Seems like since winter has arrived, electric gas expenses have shot up 30 . The exterior walls are cold to touch, almost like there is minimal insulation in the bedroom. This causes the bedroom to be significantly colder than the rest of the unit. Staff are pleasant when I go to the office and the maintenance is friendly as well.

The office staff is great, no major problems with neighbors. The biggest problem is the dog poop that greets me every morning when I leave for work. This is gross and unacceptable. There should be stiffer penalties if this isn't cleaned up. For ALL dog owners.

Wouldnt come back.

"First off, parking is impossible. Second, walls are very thin. And there is always mothers screaming at their kids and cursing at them next to my complex. Upkeep outside, not so bad, but maintenance has a list of unfinished, or never addressed problems in my apartment. They make the outside look okay but don't judge a book by its cover I LOVE Sheryl in the office she takes care of everything you need within her power. hope I spelled her name right but a lot of the other people in there seem to not know what's going on, and I have always been on time paying them, I go through a rut one time, and they threaten eviction and court fines. The court stuff start on the 4th of every month. And that's one thing they are on top of. And they are not understanding. They just want their money, and don't care if your a family of five. I was 192 dollars short, asked if I could pay the rest the month after, and he told me go get a loan no I can't do that and proceeded to tell me about the eviction process. Over all I give this place, with generosity, 3 stars. "

Not Bad - Definitely Had Worse

"Overall, it's not bad. Thankfully, I live in a building with good neighbors that are friendly, but keep to themselves. The stairs and landings are external, so you only share a wall with one other apartment and the way the apartments are set up, that wall is through the closet bathroom dining room entryway...makes the noise factor go down. Unfortunately, the walls and windows are somewhat thin - and every time there's a siren going down Austin Bluffs...you can hear it. As well as Doherty High School band when they're practicing for football games - so if you're a Spartan, or a fan of the Friday Night Lights...it might not be a bad thing. Another plus is that Weidner is a national company, meaning there's not a lot of marijuana smell permeating the property - which is nice Let's be honest, yes, it's legal but no, it doesn't smell the greatest - especially when certain job fields make you pee in a cup whenever you have the slightest hint of skunk on you . But this is Colorado, so marijuana on property is just a red card away...grains of salt, folks. The parking situation isn't horrendous - I miss the days of assigned parking spaces and the option of covered spaces, but this complex simply doesn't have enough spaces to offer that sort of thing. I've always found a space and never had to walk more than one building away, so again, not bad. There are dog waste stations with bags provided all throughout the grassy areas - which is a HUGE plus. Unfortunately, the owners of smaller dogs need frequent reminders that even little dog piles need to be picked up - but I guess adulting is a little too difficult sometimes. However, all it took was a visit to the office and there was immediate improvement on that front...we'll see if it lasts. As far as construction, the buildings are definitely older and it's reflected. Again, not something that is the fault of the complex. Maintenance is "

Good Complex

Not bad...could be better.

The apartments are decent, I chose an non-updated apartment, appliances are in good condition and work very well. Finishes are a bit rough...but I'm paying less than one of the updated apartments. Due to the overall age of the buildings, you can hear more neighbor noise than in a newer building but not horrible. The worst part of choosing to live here is the parking. NO ASSIGNED PARKING...I have had to park across the street and down a building. There is one apartment that regularly has 2 or 3 cars parked in front of the building. We have 12 parking spots and 1 handicap...would be ok if there was assigned parking and only one assigned spot per apartment as there are only 12 apartments in this building. The grass is kept mowed...the bushes are bit overgrown...could definitely be trimmed. They need a better laundry option for tenants...most buildings only have one washer and dryer for the entire building, I was told that 2 or 3 of the buildings have 3 washers and dryers. The machines also use a card that you load with cash and has a one time fee of 2 when you initially buy the card. I choose to go to a laundry mat nearby so I can just do both of my loads at the same time and get them done. The grounds are kept mowed pretty good, the bushes really need to be cut back and reshaped...they look like they have been let go most of the season.

Okay for the price

I have lived here for only 2 months, so far its been quite nice. Only a few items worth mentioning....there was a pest problem from the first day. The management quickly took care of that, and after 3 or 4 weeks of exterminator treatments we seem to be pest-free The unit is definitely dated. The kitchen and bath need upgrades, windows are original, front door has large gaps, ok in summer, but winter is gonna suck. All trim around interior doors is metal as opposed to wood. I think some units have been upgraded, this one needs to be gutted. 5 stars for good neighbors.

Location of the apartment is pretty great.

Parking is a pain. The staff and Maintenance people are great and friendly. Some of my neighbors are friendly and or keep to themselves. This place isnt known for drama or anything that pertains to that. Key point to me that people are willing to help someone who is handicap or needs a hand if its carrying groceries or getting someones car started. Overall the place is great if you can overlook the parking.

I moved into a bed bug apartment building

I would NEVER recommend this apartment to ANYONE, not even my WORST ENEMY. My kids had so many bites on their legs that they have scars on their feet. It took a couple other residents in the building for them to come and actually do something about it. I am disgusted that I actually let my family move into this complex. One of the BEST apartments in Colorado Springs Truly

Loved it. The service was great and the managers and office people were very friendly and caring. I enjoyed my stay here and would love to stay longer if I could. Maybe someday The only thing was that parking could be hard sometimes because of the construction. But again, they were making the roads better so it certainly pays off in the future.

I enjoy living here, my biggest complaints would be that there isn't always parking available in the evening and night, and that the cosmetics of the buildings aren't very well kept. The office staff is nice, rent and utilities are a fair price, and maintenance showed up within 5 minutes of my phone call when my sink was backed up...it was fixed within 10 minutes. All in all, its a peaceful, cozy place to live.

Low quality for such a high price.

"I will go down the list and touch on each question in the ranking criteria. If you don't plan on taking me seriously, then just ignore this. BUT, if this actually matters, I have plenty to say that reflects the way almost everyone I've met from this community feels. 1. Parking Availability Horrible. If you arrive after 730 pm, it is a struggle not only to find good parking, but to even find parking that puts me near the same building that I live in. I am sorry that I don't have a solution for this other than assigned parking which you should consider but this is the third apartment from The Retreat that I have lived in over the past 7 years and the parking is awful in all three areas of the community that I have lived in. 2. Noise My previous upstairs neighbor was the worst and loudest family on earth. It took months before anything was finally done about it. BUT, even after this neighbor was finally removed, there is still an unacceptable volume level of noise originating from the apartment above me. There is no reason why I should be able to hear a 120 lb person walking quietly from one end of the apartment to the other. Yet, we can hear EVERY, SINGLE, STEP, that someone takes. This building isn't just old, it's a torture chamber. 3. Grounds The complex's appearance is very well maintained. I am sure since this is the thing people notice the most when driving by or coming to discuss moving here, it's taken care of much better than the garbage we live in. 4. Construction Building material is likely to be very poor if I can hear everything my upstairs neighbors say. The heat insulation seems good and my energy bill is only a little higher than you would expect in a tiny apartment like this. The layout is fine but would be better if the bedrooms were at either end instead of next to each other, ESPECIALLY since we are working with bad building materials that over time, have made it to where you can hear everything through the walls. 5. Not to great of experience.

Treated sooo badly at leaving. I filed a complaint and was not even responded to. when I moved in on the seventh of the month I had to Pay for the full month on move out I had to pay for seven days of rent even though I had paid for the full month up front. I was treated less than human by the staff when I turned in my keys. I was scolded by an worker there that never apologized or did anything once he realized I was a different guy. I never was late on a payment and yet I was treated like dirt. I didn't mind the place or the noisy neighbors that bad but the professionalism by that person working that day totally lost my respect for this company and the fact that no one has responded really upsets me.

Not a bad place to live

My boyfriend and i live together here and it is not as bad as people make it seem. Some things definitely need work, but overall, we are very happy here. Our neighbors are very courteous and pleasant. The walls are very thin. I can hear my neighbors talking. Also, some aspects of the apartments need to be re done. the sealing on everything needs work. The maintenance is always nice and helpful, they even wear those booties so they don't track dirt in Our apartment is very affordable and with the right work will make even the pickiest people happy.

The Property is Mostly Maintained Well for What You Pay

We lived in a 1b 1b apartment so our experience will differ from someone looking to move into a 2 bedroom or bigger. Appliances in our unit were a bit outdated, but we had no issues with them besides for the oven not baking properly occasionally. Management promised that updates would be done to our building within our stay there, but we haven't seen any changes. Many of the buildings require paint touchups or need to be painted completely over and have been that way since we moved in. The roads were rough, but that was just recently fixed in most parts of the community. Upkeep of the greenery was very good. We had a few days where the card machine for the laundry rooms was inoperable and we could not do laundry when needed. Luckily, we had friends nearby who allowed us to use their machines. Upon request, maintenance problems and other issues are fixed in a very timely manor usually within the next day if non-emergency related. Neighbors are 50 50 with behavior and noise, which is common anywhere so don't let that sway your opinion. We were unlucky to have neighbors below us who would smoke marijuana in their bathroom and would use the ventilation system to clear the air.. unfortunately, the smoke and smell would rise into our bathroom. My other neighbors were very nice and super helpful all the time. When we moved in, we had at least 4 different people passing by offer to help. Parking can be challenging sometimes depending on time of day, but you will always find a spot within 20-30 feet of your apartment. However, I had no issues with the property managers or any of the amenities provided, minus the one mishap with the laundry machines. This community is very good based on the area it is located in and the price was just right for the time we paid. Prices will fluctuate throughout the year. As stated above, the bigger your apartment, the less of these issues you'll have. The bigger units have washer and dryer connections so you won't rely on the commu

Affordable Spacious

Some reviews have been a little harsh but my experience at The Retreat at Austin Bluffs has been great Maintenance is AWESOME Whenever I called which was for things I could not figure out , they were there instantly showed me how things worked. This is the first time I live alone and farrrrr away from my family , the view from my balcony was beautiful. It was great to have the office team help me with anything I needed utilities, food spots, etc. . The best part was being able to use the pool all year round, BECAUSE IT'S INDOORS I liked this place so much, I just upgraded to a 2 2.

Bias Management

"Lease is about expired, 1 year. Overall for the price, it's livable. Rent is paid as it should be, considered late after midnight on the 3rd of the month. Twice I realized in the middle of the night, just hours after midnight that I didn't pay and paid on line immediately, sun had not even risen, it was not a matter of dodging or avoiding payment and thankfully it was not due to not having the funds . I understand late is late and I have no problem with this, however I am one of the good tenants , cause no problem, maintain my place, do not call on maintenance take care of minor things myself and I am quiet.Being a commercial property manager myself, close to 10 years of residential experience with 200 plus unit communities, I would be considered a good tenant, one you would care to retain. I totally agree with chronic late payers , you have to enforce the late fee, however management does have the authority to weigh in and decide when to enforce the late fee, to a degree. If paying the late fee applied to all equally, regardless of the circumstance,no problem, it would still be unpleasant to pay 50 bucks for being a few hours late, but less painful than knowing first hand , their are others, some I would consider undesirable tenants which seem to get special treatment and are able to postpone or totally avoid the late fee, this is totally and utterly unacceptable, playing favoritism Not a good practice in business, especially when dealing with people, it sends a clear message. I been fortunate enough to not have lived in an apartment, up until a year ago, for almost 30 years, this would be my first experience in a while. Been threatened bodily harm by a downstairs tenant with a posture as if he were reaching for a concealed yes over laundry for taking the laundry out of the washer and placing it on the dryer, when the load was done. I expressed my concern to management, nothing as far as I know was ever done about this. Pot holes big enoug"

AN OKAY PLACE TO LIVE

It's super loud neighbors are disrespectful to the fact they live around other people, always blarring their TV'S late at night well into early morning fighting and screaming so bad cops had to be called, another neighbor having the TV up on full blast, There's never anywhere to park at night we have to park far from our unit, there's broken down go carts and cars in parking spots which causes less parking by our unit. Maintenance doesn't fix anything properly they were suppose to fix the laundry room door it broke the next day and didn't fix the front door said it wasn't fixable because of the weather strip so if the door isn't locked it doesn't stay shut. If you have a complaint on a neighbor it doesn't seem the office does much to resolve the issue, the apartment looks bigger than what it is on the online pictures especially in the living room area, the laundry room also looks bigger than what it is. You can't check the mail whenever you want and the gates never close they have been shut a total of 3 times the whole month I've been here. People are always speeding around the curves turning way too fast causing me to almost get hit several times, there's trash cans at stop signs causing us to not be able to see people coming.The equipment in the fitness center doesn't work only things that do are the 2 treadmills. It is a very overcrowded apartment complex

By far the best I feel safe here

Of the apartment complexes I've lived in, this is the best. I am impressed by the staff especially. They are always incredibly helpful and professional, and answer questions and issues immediately. This is also a safe place to live, the gate is closed at night, and the grounds are clean.

Very friendly

Nice to live at, but payment methods need to be careful

Comfortable enough, if given it a chance. However, some of the payments had to be delayed and caused some problems with planning ahead. Water and Trash was delayed for 45 day delay for some reason so only thing that bothered me.

It has been great so far

It is very quiet and very welcoming. No complaints but parking. If you don't make it home before 8 30pm you might find yourself walking down the street.

Feels like a safe and comfortable family environment.

We've enjoyed living here. We find it especially comfortable since we have children attending the nearby schools. This location has a variety of amenities within close proximity.

Roaches, pigeons, applicenes always break easily, cheap

From my personal experience, I feel that it is NOT worth what you pay I had to call an exterminator several times due to roaches coming in through the vents from our neighbors home. Maintenance took about 2 months of my complaining before they finally came over to remove pigeons from our deck, then I had to clean up all the pigeon poop and feathers then they came back and did it AGAIN Cigarette and marijuana smoke came in through our vents from neighbors home as well our clothes smelled like smoke all the time Upside the staff was always nice

In 5 yrs it has really gone down the last 3yrs

3 years ago I would have said yes but now not quite sure hopefully with the new manager things will get better. I know you have to go through change to get where you need to be. I just think need to really screen the people that are moving in. Trash is always everywhere except where it should be. It gets really old especially when you care about where and how you live.

Comfortable

"My husband I lived at The Retreat at Austin Bluffs when it was under a different name, which I can't recall at this very moment. It was before we where married in 2001and lived here until 2005. When our daughter graduated from DHS. In December of 2010 we had to down size due to very unfortunate circumstances. So we chose The Retreat, knowing we had a good experience in the past. although it has not been our ideal place we wanted to be in our early 50's. God has blessed in many ways. I can say the team we have now is one of the best we have seen. They are polite, respectably, caring people, and very on top of things. In the five years we have lived here. We have also seen neighbors come ago. In the last year or so we have neighbors we don't even know are around. Our only complaint would be the security gate never working properly. Seems like an going battle of mechanical issues more than anything. Enclosing it has been a comfortable, safe, inviting and well maintain environment living experience."

Great place to call home

The parking can be a little hit or miss but the worries stop there. The staff are polite and fun making sure everything is up to par. I have been here 1 year and have not had any issue that wasn't handled quickly.

I like it

Its a good place, with little criminal activity, parking not so good after 10p. some tenants do not pick up after pets, normally the ones with big dogs, not recommended to sit in the grass.

Since you did not post the amount due I do not know what I owe. I guessed at the amount. Just saying I better not receive a past due notice Also if you broke down the payment into rent and utilities on the payment history I could have figured it out. You want people to pay early and then you don't post the amount due until the first...or in this case not at all

worst place ever ripoff

It was a horrible experience we moved in to find that the apartment was infested with cocaroches then by ants. We had a flood and was never taken care of now we are being charged for the repairs the pool was never clean and the heater never worked the hot tub was always closes and repairs were never made. We complained several times about the load nose from the neighbor upstairs and nothing was ever done. There is no parking and parents do not supervise there children there were several occasions that children almost drown in the pool. There is also a lot of drug use and parties all the time the security gates never worked.

Very comfortable

It has a strong home feeling for me. There is always parking available for me, except for very late nights when I get home at 1am and even then, I still don't have to park to far away. The space is large and open which is nice Sometiimes I can hear neighbors but it isn't disturbing me and always, during the night it's peaceful and quiet

Not bad...

Overall, pretty good place! Much better than most. However, a few issues. We had several issue moving in with broken counters or tile which were never fixed. Also, I have to park VERY far away from my home every night

nice apartment not worth it

I love my apartment but when you renew your lease they don t tell you until you go in there that your rent will be going up $60 a month. Now we are paying $800 a month for a mediocre apartment when we could be living in a much nicer community like the pinnacle apts for the same price. A warning or notice that the rent will be going up would be nice. Nice apartment but not worth the money.

Convenient, quaint neighborhood in a great location!

After reflecting on my ratings, maintenance has scored highest for me. The crew is always very polite, respectful and courteous whenever conducting business in the complex. With the exception of a rotten egg leasing agent or two, the office management staff is always super pleasant and very professional. I don t have very much interaction with my neighbors... and to be honest, that is okay with me!! The more privacy, the better!

UNPLEASANT AND HORRENDOUS!!!!

Terrible service and will take everything they can when you check out. They are horrible at record keeping and taking information from you. Not to mention they are a horrible at helping out with problems in an apartment. Terrible service, terrible everything simply put. If you do stay at The Retreat, put everything in the check sheet as poor condition because its bound to break because everything is so ancient and old and if it breaks your the one who is going to pay for it.

Ok for first time renter

The parking is HORRIBLE. I am a single lady living in a 1 bdrm apt with 1 vehicle and the couple across from me have 3 vehicles, one of which is a motorcycle that hasn't moved now going on almost a week that occupies the very first space right near my apt. I have brought my concern up to the office via online and received no response even acknow my concern. What poor customer service. Even if nothing can me done to remedy the situation, good business is to acknow you heard me. I have lived here for almost 3 years and due to this last "ignore" I have already signed with a new apt. complex and will be moving in July. Need to quit filling the front which has less parking due to the playground. I live on the west side of the gate and have to walk through both gates and around to the other side to find a parking spot. So plan on staying home once you get home from work. Even when I get home between 5-530, in can be a challenge to park. My recommendation is to not move here.
